Permanent Residency Pathway for Ukrainians In Canada

Ukrainians Immigration to Canada

In response to the ongoing crisis resulting from the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has implemented a temporary public policy aimed at reuniting families in Canada. This compassionate policy facilitates certain Ukrainians in Canada and their family members to apply for permanent residence, fostering the reunification of families during these challenging times.

Key Points of the Public Policy:

    1. Eligibility for Permanent Residence:
        • Ukrainian foreign nationals in Canada and their eligible family members can apply for permanent residence.
    2. Residence Flexibility for Family Members:
        • Family members have the option to live in or outside Canada.
        • Permanent resident visas will be issued to family members residing outside of Canada.
    3. Application Process:
        • If you meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the public policy, you are encouraged to apply for permanent residence.

Application Verification Process:

Upon receiving your application, IRCC will meticulously check:

    1. Submission of all required information.
    2. Fulfillment of eligibility criteria.

Next Steps Upon Eligibility Confirmation:

If your eligibility is confirmed, IRCC will:

    1. Invite you and your family members to complete:
        • Medical exams (if required).
        • Criminal and security checks.
        • Biometrics (if required).
    2. Communicate the final decision once your application has been processed.

These special measures signify Canada’s commitment to providing a haven for families affected by the Ukrainian crisis. We understand the urgency of reunification, and our goal is to facilitate a smooth and expedited process for eligible individuals and their loved ones.
